Here we have the large Tri-Kells Dragon Brooch handcrafted from Scottish Silver. The Book of Kells is widely regarded as Ireland’s finest national treasure. This brooch has been inspired by the dragon illustrations found in the Book of Kells. Tri comes from the triangular shape and the Trinity where the book now resides. The manuscript takes its name from the Abbey of Kells, which was its home for centuries. Today, it is on permanent display at Trinity College Library, Dublin.
